Getting to Oakhurst and Bass Lake

Flying

id_fyiFresno Yosemite International Airport is going to be your best option for flying as you travel to the Bass Lake area. It’s serviced by most major airlines and has plenty of in-terminal car rental options. Once you land and pick up your car rental, you’ll have an hour drive up CA-41 to Oakhurst and Bass Lake.


sacramento airportIf you can’t find a flight into Fresno, you can also fly into Sacramento International Airport. This will mean a three and a half hour drive once you land. Take CA-99 South until you hit Merced. From there, you’ll take CA-140 East to to Mariposa where you’ll jump onto CA-49. That will take you to Oakhurst and Bass Lake.


Driving

Take the I-5 (or I-15 to the I-5) North and merge onto CA-99. Once you get to Fresno take CA-41 North to Oakhurst and Bass Lake.

Coming from the North
Take the 1-5 South to Sacramento, then take CA-99 South until you hit Merced. From there, you’ll take CA-140 East to to Mariposa where you’ll jump onto CA-49. That will take you to Oakhurst and Bass Lake.

Coming from the East
Take the I-70 West until you hit I-15. Take the I-15 South until you get to Barstow. Just past Barstow you’ll take CA-58 to Bakersfield, where you’ll connect with CA-99 North. Take CA-99 to Fresno. Then you’ll get on CA-41 North to Oakhurst and Bass Lake.
